Magic is dangerous--but love is more dangerous still.
When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.
Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What's more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa's power for his own.
Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by--and torn between--two best friends: James, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm's length...everyone, that is, but Tessa. As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world...and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all.
Review: I LOVE this book! OK, first of all. I am a HUGE fan of Cassandra Clare! I love the way she writes and I enjoy her books so much. I was especially excited to her she was coming out with a prequel series to The Mortal Instruments! I know it took me a while to read and review Clockwork Angel but hey, I'm doing it now. That's what counts right? Lol. Ok... where to begin??? Uh, lets start with Tessa's power and the Magister. Right from the beginning I despised the Magister even though I didnt know who he was. He just sounded like a creep and I found him kind of disturbing. I mean, come on, who doesn't find the fact that Tessa was being trained, and then to be married off to him disturbing? I found Tessa's power interesting though. I mean being able to change into someone else entirely. I still want to know if she's a Warlock though! I mean, she doesn't have the mark but yet she has power! AHHHH!!!! Also, the automatons were really weird too. I don't think I like the idea of mechanical like people. Ehhhh. And Nate!!!! UGH!!!! How could he do that to his sister?!? He betrayed her! I personally would be beyond furious with him!
Shadowhunters! OK, we already know that this paragraph is really gonna talk about Will & Jem mostly but I have to talk about the others a little. I really liked Charlotte and Henry. They were really nice and they did try to help Tessa as much as they could. I'm still not sure about Jessamine. I liked her at some points but then I couldn't stand her at others. I think I'm leaning a little bit more towards liking her though. OK, now to the boys! :D Ok, to start off with, I'm totally torn between Will and Jem! Jem is really really sweet at times but Will sounds hot and at times I really did like him. Though I'm still not sure about Will with his constantly changing moods. I'm leaning a bit more towards Jem at the moment though we'll see for sure who I'm more leaning towards after I read Clockwork Prince. Jem seemed to always know the right thing to say. Like my fave quote from the book, "

Super glad to see you enjoyed CLOCKWORK ANGEL. I finished it a while back and enjoyed it very much too! I just wasnt too fond of Will at the end. The things he said to Tessa were just cruel. Who does he think he is? Regardless, I am looking forward to book 2 :)
