Daimon (Covenant #0.5)
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press
Publication Date: April 19, 2011
Pages: 88
Source: Kindle E-Book Version
For three years, Alexandria has lived among mortals—pretending to be like them and trying to forget the duty she'd been trained to fulfill as a child of a mortal and a demigod. At seventeen, she's pretty much accepted that she's a freak by mortal standards... and that she'll never be prepared for that duty.
According to her mother, that’s a good thing.
But as every descendant of the gods knows, Fate has a way of rearing her ugly head. A horrifying attack forces Alex to flee Miami and try to find her way back to the very place her mother had warned her she should never return—the Covenant. Every step that brings her closer to safety is one more step toward death… because she's being hunted by the very creatures she'd once trained to kill.
The daimons have found her.
Review: Ok, so seeing as this is only the prequel and its only 88 pages, this review is going to be shorter. Daimon was a great way to introduce us to this series! First of all, Jennifer L. Armentrout is an amazing writer! Her writing pulled me in right away. So I really felt for Alex. Her mom took her away from the only home she ever knew without telling her why. I'd be furious if that happened to me. Then with the Daimon's finding her and her mom. And her mom!!! What happened to her mom! OMG! Poor Alex. Then having to leave her mom and go on the run!!!! I'd be scared out of my freakin mind!!!! Especially when if I knew Daimon's were chasing me!!! I was scared for Alex being alone with them chasing her but yet I couldnt stop reading even when things got bad at the end. Oh, not to mention reading this before Half-Blood really helped me make sense of Half-Blood. :)
