In Alyson Noel’s most darkly seductive Immortals novel yet, Ever fights for control of her body, her soul—and the timeless true love she’s been chasing for centuries.

Ever is trying to help Haven transition into life as an immortal.  But with Haven drunk on her new powers and acting recklessly, she poses the ultimate threat—exposing their secret world to the outside.  As Ever struggles to keep the Immortals hidden, it only propels Haven closer to the enemy—Roman and his evil companions.

At the same time, Ever delves deeper into dark magick to free Damen from Roman’s power. But when her spell backfires, it binds her to the one guy who’s hell-bent on her destruction. Now there’s a strange, foreign pulse coursing through her, and no matter what she does, she can’t stop thinking about Roman—and longing for his touch.  As she struggles to resist the fiery attraction threatening to consume her, Roman is more than willing to take advantage of her weakened state…and Ever edges closer and closer to surrender.

Frantic to break the spell before its too late, Ever turns to Jude for help, risking everything she knows and loves to save herself—and her future with Damen …

Review: I did enjoy this one a little more than I enjoyed Shadowland. Dark Flame seemed to pick up the pace a little, not much, but enough for me to enjoy it more. So this review is probably gonna be shorter than my other reviews because I dont have as much to say about this book. Ok, so first of all. With Haven becoming an Immortal she turned into a serious jerk (because I'm not going to cuss in this review, so I cant say a certain other word). She acted like everything was about her. Ever and Damen were only trying to help her and protect her and she just completely blew them off. So much for "Best Friends". I found it really disturbing that due to the spell Ever had tried in Shadowland, that the dark magic kept attracting her to Roman. It seriously creeped me out.  I was glad when she found a way to get rid of the dark magic that was causing it. It made this much less weird. Lol. I was also happy that thanks to Ever getting rid of the dark magic and the things that were bringing her down and to the dark side she was able to find her way back into the Great Hall of Learning. And omg! This shocked me when I found out about it. Ava is apparently the twins aunt! Rayne & Romy's aunt came back as Ava! I found that so cool. (And Ava was the person who helped Ever get rid of the dark magic, so I kind of like Ava again). OMG! I was so mad at the end!!!!! Ever was finally getting through to Roman, and was so close to getting the antidote and then Jude just had to barge in there and kill Roman!!!! UGH!!!!!!! I kind of liked Jude up until that point. And what's worse is that when Haven found them, Ever got blamed for Romans death! I mean seriously, that was a WTF moment. I was seriously like are you kidding me??? That is so not fair! GRRR!!!!

3 Stars!

  2. Shadowland and Dark Flame were so frustrating for me; By then I was glad to finish the series and get the last book over with, which was a little better.

  3. Since I didn't know this series, I can't pitch my own comments in... but if the first thing to note is "slightly better than the other one", then I'm not sure I want to get to read it! :)

Glad you liked it! Thanks for sharing the review

  4. Glad it was slightly better... still not sold on finishing this series myself though. It sounds like this is a series that a lot of people are just trying to "get through." Which doesn't say a whole lot for it as a whole. lol
