One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.
Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.
New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth's much-anticipated second book of the dystopian Divergent series is another intoxicating thrill ride of a story, rich with hallmark twists, heartbreaks, romance, and powerful insights about human nature.
Review: OMG!!! Just... WOW!!! So much happening in this book!!! I seriously couldn't put this book down from the minute I checked the mail and torn the box open!!! Just so you all know, I don't think I can do this book justice in this review but I will sure as hell try! Lol. I think I love this one more than Divergent! I loved how there was twice as much action in this book than the first! First of all, I really liked how we got more of a look into Amity and Candor life as the book went on. While I might not be Amity or Candor (I'm Dauntless) I really enjoyed getting to know more about how they lived and their place within the factions. Also, my dislike for Erudite grew, I mean don't get me wrong I'm a little Divergent as well and I'd probably be Erudite and Dauntless but what they were doing was just wrong and it sickened me seeing that. I also hated seeing the Dauntless faction split in half! Not to mention how Jeanine was control so many people with the simulation serum's she kept working on! It was just wrong! You shouldn't be able to do that! I mean, I had nothing wrong with it for the fear simulations because in all honesty, even if you didn't want to, eventually you'd have to face your fears and try to overcome them, so I didn't mind those. But with the fact that she was trying to control everyone's minds and then even try to make a serum to control the Divergent's as well. I hated it! Speaking of the Divergent... I couldn't believe how many people were Divergent and I never figured it out! Not to mention the amounts of Divergent's in the factionless. It was just... Wow!! Oh... And who we found out is still alive from the factionless. There was just so much stuff that came out into the open that I was shocked to find out about! Not to mention what the factionless did in the end! They weren't much better than any of the other factions that used others. Oh, and the people who we found out that were really traitors and those who we thought were traitors and ended up not being!
Tobias and Tris! Ok, first of all, I was getting so annoyed with their constant fighting and keeping things from each other! I mean they were so close before and they wouldn't even trust each other with their secrets. It was making me so mad! I really did like that they overcame their trust issue in the end and just believed in each other! I was gonna be beyond pissed if the book ended with them being all pissed at each other and still not trusting each other after all they went through in the entire book! Ok, now since my venting is done. Tobias!!!! OMG!!! That boy is so sweet!!! If you guys have already read it then you guys will know exactly what I'm talking about! He said so many sweet things to Tris! One of my favorites though was on page 399 (you didn't really think I'd write the quote and spoil it for someone who hasn't read this yet did you?) What he said on that page just made my heart melt! I love Tobias and Tris together!!! :) <3
The last page! OMG THE LAST PAGE!!! What was revealed on the last page!!!! OMG!!! I'm still not sure exactly what it means for Tris but ahhhhhh!!!!! I seriously need book 3 like now! Can you please hurry up and write it for us Ms. Roth??? We need it asap!!! Share your thoughts with me!!! I'd love to fan girl some more with you all!! :D

5 Stars!
I haven't written any review for Insurgent... I can'y start it yet, lol. It's too good to be reviewed by me, I think I won't be able to do justice. I love love love Tris and Tobias and the whole Divergent Series. I admit, TRIS is so frustrating in this book. There are times that I want to smack her head! But as always, I LOVE FOUR and I WANT TO TAKE HIM HOME WITH ME (I hope hubby understands my big crushing on Tobias) lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat review Brit! I hope I can write mine soon. =D
