The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer's permission, Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013.

Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop's purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

Question:
Do you enjoy reading retellings of, or 'sequels' to, classic novels? Why or why not? (submitted by Maria @ A Night's Dream of Books)

Answer:
Retellings, yes, sometimes. It really depends on the story. Some retellings I really love, others are just complete misses with me. It honestly just depends on the story and how its written. Sequels, I'm not too into sequels of classics. I'm not sure why.

  1. Yeah, I think retellings can be a mixed bag. I've not really read any sequels of classic novels that I can think of.

    1. Same! As far as I know, I've yet to read a sequel of a classic. Lol.

  2. The story has to be well written. I've found some retellings that are great and others that are not.

    1. Exactly!!! Some I've flew through and rated 5 stars. Others I couldn't even finish the book let alone rate it. It really depends on the writing.

  3. I have never read a re-telling, but I have read sequels.

    1. I'm the opposite. Read retellings but not a sequel yet. No problem!
