Bout of Books 23: Sign-Up & TBR Post

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly Rubidoux Apple. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 20th and runs through Sunday, August 26th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. I'm so excited to participate in another Bout of Books! Despite my fail in the January one, I did relatively well in my May one. Only falling half a book short of my initial goal. So I'm setting my bar a little higher for this Bout of Books since I've been in a bigger reading mood! 

My Goal:

• To read 6 books during Bout of Books, though I'd love to finish all 8 I put on my TBR
• Be more active with the challenges and the twitter chats. 

So in May's I ended up sleeping through some of the twitter chats cuz I was exhausted. And I totally flopped on doing at least 2 or 3 challenges. This time I want to engage more on Twitter with participants and try to do all the challenges! August has been a good month for me with working on talking more and doing challenge type things. So I'm aiming high for Bout of Books! :D

My Tentative TBR:

• Bruja Born (Brooklyn Brujas #2) by Zoraida Cordova
• Breaking The Ice (Juniper Falls #2) by Julie Cross

• Grave Mercy (His Fair Assassin #1) by Robin LaFevers
• Shadow and Bone (The Grisha Trilogy #1) by Leigh Bardugo
• Shatter (Glitter #2) by Aprilynne Pike
• The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds #1) by Alexandra Bracken

So 3 of these books come from my August TBR. 3 come from my ARC August TBR and the other two are two older books I've yet to get my lazy butt to reading (Grave Mercy and Shadow and Bone). I'm really excited to read a lot of these books, so I'm hoping that will mean I'll enjoy reading them!
